Jeorgi returns to The Growing Stage having starred in our holiday production of THE LAND OF FORGOTTEN TOYS. We recently sat down with Jeorgi to talk about her two roles in The Growing Stage’s World Premiere new play, MADDIE & ELEANOR!
Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am an actress and teaching artist at The Growing Stage! I love to sing, act, and dance. When I am not performing, I love to go shopping, bake cookies, and watch movies!
Tell us about your role in Maddie & Eleanor.
I play Anna and Sophia. Anna is Eleanor Roosevelt’s daughter. During this time of the play their relationship is on the rocks and they are working on repairing it. While Sophia is a new girl at Maddie’s school who wants to be friends with Maddie.
Were you a fan of Eleanor Roosevelt prior to this production?
Prior to this production I did not know as much about Eleanor Roosevelt as I probably should have, but now I am huge fan!
What can audiences expect from seeing Maddie & Eleanor?
A new story that intertwine past and current times with unlikely friendships between Eleanor Roosevelt and a nine year old girl who lives in 2023.
Do you have a favorite first lady? If so, who and why?
I don’t have a favorite First Lady, but I do admire Jackie Kennedy for her iconic fashion and style!
What’s it like getting to work with this team at TGS?
A dream. The team at The Growing Stage is always professional, kind, and fun! I am so grateful to act among a phenomenal group of actors that create a safe space to play and experiment with roles.
