Additional Auditions: Catching The Moon!

We’re reaching out to the community to ask for your help in spreading the word so that we can complete our casting for our upcoming musical, CATCHING THE MOON: The Story of a Young Girl’s Baseball Dream based on the true story of Toni (Marcenia) Stone, the first woman to play professional baseball.
If you could pass along the information to anyone you think might work for our show, we would appreciate it. Show and contact information is listed below. Thank you!

Additional Casting:
We are looking for a young, black male in his twenties for the role of Harold, who is described as short and heavy, but we’re flexible. It is a tenor role. He is a much better friend to Marcenia than as a fellow ballplayer and definitely has a much better chance in broadcasting or as a fan than on the ballfield. It is a non-union role with rehearsal and performance provided.

About The Show:
Catching the Moon is a blues musical for young people and their families. The orchestration is a jug band meant to have a 1930’s Depression Era sound. With the crack of a bat, Marcenia Lyle rounds the bases with ease and slides into home. It’s the ballfield she knows and loves best. So when famous baseball manager Gabby Street comes scouting players for summer camp, Marcenia steps up to the plate to compete. She’s determined to pursue her passion and defy the naysayers who discourage her from following her dream because she’s a girl. Catching the Moon tells the spirited true story of the Black girl who grew up to become “Toni Stone,” the first woman to play for an all-male professional baseball team.
