Upcoming Auditions: Charlie & The Chocolate Factory

Audition Dates:

Tuesday, September 3rd at 7pm for Adult Performers (Ages 18+)

Wednesday, September 4th at 7pm for Young Performers (Ages 10-17)

Auditions will be held in-person at The Historic Palace Theatre: 7 Ledgewood Ave. Netcong, NJ. 

Please Note: The Growing Stage Theatre is located in northwestern New Jersey. There is no regular mass transportation. We do not provide housing. Reliable transportation is needed.

Seeking:

Adult and young actors (ages 10-17) to play various roles throughout the performance. The Growing Stage celebrates and encourages diversity in all of our productions. The Growing Stage is a professional company dedicated to presenting quality theatre for the entire family.

CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY will have a limited number of Professional Artist and Emerging Artist Contracts available for adult artists (high school graduates and beyond). The number of contracts available are determined individually by each production’s budget.

Preparation:

Open call. Auditioners are asked to prepare sixteen measures of a musical theatre song with printed sheet music for the accompanist. There will be a brief dance routine taught by the company choreographer.

Video Submissions:

In-person auditions are preferred. Video submissions will be accepted up until Wednesday, August 28th with the understanding that you may be invited to attend the preferable in-person audition on September 3rd or 4th. Please send all video submissions to mfralley@growingstage.com.

Rehearsal Schedule:

Rehearsal schedules are generally two or three evenings during the week and a weekend afternoon.  All cast members are expected for all performances, with no exception since the company does not cast understudies.

October 11th-27th: Saturdays at 4pm and Sundays at 2pm with a special Opening Night performance on Friday, October 11th at 7:30pm.

The world-famous Willy Wonka is opening the gates to his mysterious factory…but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other golden ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s world of pure imagination including chocolate waterfalls, nutty squirrels and the great glass elevator, all to be revealed by Wonka’s army of curious Oompa-Loompas.

Ticketing System

  • Main Stage Performances are normally Saturdays at 4:00PM and Sunday at 2:00PM. Friday performances are on a limited basis at 7:30pm.
  • Studio Series Performances: Thursday/Friday at 7:30PM, Saturday at 4:00PM and Sunday at 2:00PM.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Local Flavor Coupons and Groupons cannot be redeemed online.  You must call the Box Office to reserve and redeem. Box Office is open daily Monday thru Friday from 10:30am to 3:00pm. Please call at least 24 hours prior to redeem.
  • Seating begins 30 minutes prior to each performance. If you select Will Call as your ticket delivery method, your tickets will be available for pick up starting an hour prior to the performance.
  • Seating is general admission except for season ticket holders and groups of 10 or more.
  • Sales are final and no refunds will be given unless the performance is cancelled. If you are unable to attend, please contact the Box Office and we will do our best to accommodate you at a different performance based on availability.
  • Concessions will be available for sale before the performance and during intermission. Outside food and drink is not allowed.
  • Parking is available in the bank parking lot next to the theatre (when the bank is closed), the park lot behind the bank lot, and on the surrounding streets. If needed, overflow parking is available at the Methodist Church down the street.
