Upcoming Auditions: Arthur & Friends Make A Musical

Auditions will be held in-person at The Historic Palace Theatre: 7 Ledgewood Ave. Netcong, NJ.


Please Note: The Growing Stage Theatre is located in northwestern New Jersey. There is no regular mass transportation. We do not provide housing. Reliable transportation is needed.

Seeking:
Adult actors needed to play various roles throughout the performance. The Growing Stage celebrates and encourages diversity in all of our productions. The Growing Stage is a professional company dedicated to presenting quality theatre for the entire family.

All roles are Non-Union positions. For adult artists, we will offer paid positions under our Professional and Emerging Artist contracts. The number of contracts available are determined individually by each production’s budget. ARTHUR AND FRIENDS MAKE A MUSICAL will have four (4) Professional Artist Contracts and three (3) Emerging Artist contracts available.

Preparation:
Open call. Auditioners are asked to prepare sixteen measures of a musical theatre song with printed sheet music for the accompanist. There will be cold read sides from the script and a brief dance routine taught by the company choreographer.

Video Submissions:
In-person auditions are preferred. Video submissions will be accepted up until Friday, January 19 with the understanding that you may be invited to attend the in-person audition on January 23. Please send all video submissions to mfralley@growingstage.com.

Rehearsal Schedule:
Rehearsal schedules are generally two or three evenings during the week and a weekend afternoon. All cast members are expected for all performances, with no exception since the company does not cast understudies.

March 8th-2th: Saturdays at 4pm and Sundays at 2pm with a special Opening Night performance on Friday, March 8th at 7:30pm.

Additional School Matinee performances will be scheduled during the week.

Depending on who’s doing the counting, anywhere from 15% to 75% of Americans are said to have a fear of public speaking. Arthur Read knows their pain. The title character of “Arthur and Friends Make a Musical” faces a challenge that seems more daunting than all the labors of Hercules combined: Write his own story or song … and perform it in a third-grade class production … alongside his friends, who all seem more creative … in front of the entire Elwood City community.

Ticketing System

  • Main Stage Performances are normally Saturdays at 4:00PM and Sunday at 2:00PM. Friday performances are on a limited basis at 7:30pm.
  • Studio Series Performances: Thursday/Friday at 7:30PM, Saturday at 4:00PM and Sunday at 2:00PM.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Local Flavor Coupons and Groupons cannot be redeemed online.  You must call the Box Office to reserve and redeem. Box Office is open daily Monday thru Friday from 10:30am to 3:00pm. Please call at least 24 hours prior to redeem.
  • Seating begins 30 minutes prior to each performance. If you select Will Call as your ticket delivery method, your tickets will be available for pick up starting an hour prior to the performance.
  • Seating is general admission except for season ticket holders and groups of 10 or more.
  • Sales are final and no refunds will be given unless the performance is cancelled. If you are unable to attend, please contact the Box Office and we will do our best to accommodate you at a different performance based on availability.
  • Concessions will be available for sale before the performance and during intermission. Outside food and drink is not allowed.
  • Parking is available in the bank parking lot next to the theatre (when the bank is closed), the park lot behind the bank lot, and on the surrounding streets. If needed, overflow parking is available at the Methodist Church down the street.
