Seeking:
2 Female-Identifying & 1 Male-Identifying energetic and physical Non-Union performers
Open to Performers Age 18+, BIPOC artists strongly encouraged to audition
Please Note: As per The Growing Stage’s Health & Safety Policy, all performers/crew/staff must show proof of vaccination.
Breakdown:
Miss Brooks— A frustrated museum curator passionate about her work, committed to the history of New Jersey, but feels unappreciated by her Board of Trustees. Singing may be required for this role.
Agnes— A strong, determined and self-reliant woman that works for a moving and storage company. Singing may be required for this role.
Leo— Agnes co-worker, who tends to be self-absorbed, overly confident, and a bit chauvinistic.
All three characters meld in and out of the historical tales they weave throughout the piece taking on roles from history, folklore and prose from the State of New Jersey.
Preparation:
Open call, no appointment required.
Prepare a one minute monologue to showcase your versatility as a performer, as each actor will play multiple characters. Sides from the script will be provided for cold readings.
Please Note: Masks must be worn by all participants while inside the theatre, except when performing your monologue.
Rehearsal Schedule:
Rehearsals will take place in-person between October 12th and November 9th.
Please Note: The Growing Stage Theatre is located in northwestern New Jersey and no regular mass transportation is available. Own transportation is strongly recommended.
Performance Schedule:
Production will be filmed November 10th, 11th, and 12th, with no in-person performances at this time. Performers will be paid for all filming and rehearsal dates, as well as receive an additional stipend per showing.
Potential for in-person daytime performances in Spring 2022, if available but not required.
