Schoolhouse Rock, Live!, Jr.
Date: Monday, December 13th at 6:30 PM for young performers ages 10 to 18
Auditions will be held in-person at The Historic Palace Theatre – 7 Ledgewood Ave. Netcong, NJ
Seeking:
The Growing Stage celebrates and encourages diversity in all of our productions. The Growing Stage is a professional theatre dedicated to presenting quality theatre for the entire family.
Seeking a cast size of eight to twenty young performers ages 10-18.
Due to the current high transmission rate, all cast members need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 for the safety of the cast and the production team.
Preparation:
Open call, no appointment required. All auditioners should prepare a 16-32 bar selection of a song that not only showcases their vocal abilities, but also their storytelling skills. Please bring marked piano sheet music of the song for the accompanist.
Auditions will also include a dance piece led by the choreographer. Please wear dance shoes or sneakers, no boots or sandals.
Please bring a headshot (or current photo) and resume, if applicable.
Please Note: Masks must be worn by all participants while inside the theatre.
Rehearsal Schedule:
Rehearsal schedules are generally two or three evenings during the week (typically Monday/Wednesday/Friday), and a weekend afternoon. All cast members are expected for all performances, with no exception since the company does not cast understudies.
Please Note: The Growing Stage Theatre is located in northwestern New Jersey and no regular mass transportation is available. As per The Growing Stage’s Health & Safety Policy, all staff are fully vaccinated.

Thursday, January 20th and Friday, January 21st at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, January 22nd at 4:00 p.m.
Sunday, January 23rd at 2:00 p.m. with a strike to follow

Tom is a nervous school teacher about to start his first day of teaching. He tries to relax with a little TV when various characters representing facets of his personality materialize from the television set. Tom is hesitant at first to accept their help, but with a little friendly prodding, they help Tom see how great a teacher he has been all along! Reviving the catchy, playful Saturday morning hits of the 70s, Schoolhouse Rock Live!, Jr. is both educational and enjoyable for everyone!
