Dear Friends,
During difficult moments such as this, one precious gift is that of time for us to reflect on what matters … what enriches the lives of our children, and what brings us closer as a family. On behalf of my fellow artists and colleagues who helped me to create our work in the classroom and on the stage, I ask for your consideration in making a donation today to The Growing Stage.
May 6 of this year marked the 25th Anniversary of our purchase of the Palace Theatre. At the time I made a presentation to the Netcong Town Council sharing our dream, and the mayor at the time said, “We think you’re crazy, but we’re glad you are.” Through the active support of our community, volunteers, artists, patrons and funders, against the odds, we brought this theatre back – and with your help we will do so again!
While we have canceled performances and classes, postponed productions and are currently evaluating our ongoing schedule to two week increments, we are committed to:
- Paying our staff of six dedicated people for as long as possible
- Remaining as flexible as possible so that our professional artists can return to the stage and to work
- Creating and producing online, interactive programming for our stay-at-home students
- Continuing to plan for our 2020/2021 Main Stage season!
Since March 23 we’ve been doing this from home as we do our part to stop this wave. We will continue to provide updates throughout the process. Until then we send you our love, appreciation, and well-wishes as we face this challenge together.
We will make wonderful memories for you and your family at The Growing Stage, just not today. Stay healthy. Stay informed. Stay safe. Most of all, stay positive.
I look forward to seeing you all again soon at the theatre!
Best wishes,
Stephen L. Fredericks
