JOB OPPORTUNITY: Production Stage Manager

The Growing Stage- The Children’s Theatre of New Jersey is seeking a Non-Union Stage Manager for the production of The Hardy Boys in The Mystery of the Haunted House in our 2023-2024 Main Stage Season.

Stage Manager will report directly to Executive Director, Stephen L. Fredericks, and Production Manager, Matthew Fralley. Must have an interest in Theatre for Young Audiences and Theatre Education, as all production team positions at The Growing Stage involve direct interaction with young performers and audiences. Paid positions, commiserate to experience.

Requirements include, but are not limited to:
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Computer literacy in Word, Excel, and Google Drive applications.
• Previous experience with QLab.
• Have a proactive work ethic, paying attention to detail and follow-through in a timely fashion.
• Maintains a professional demeanor.
• Available to work nights and weekends.

About the Production:
The Hardy Boys in The Mystery of the Haunted House – October 13th-29th

Saturdays at 4pm
Sundays at 2pm
Opening Night performance Friday Oct 13th at 7:30pm

Rehearsals: Rehearsal schedules are generally two or three evenings during the week and a weekend afternoon. Stage Managers are expected for all rehearsals and performances.

Ace amateur detectives Frank and Joe Hardy find themselves embroiled in a dangerous and perplexing caper that turns the tranquil town of Bayport upside down! This time, suspicious circumstances surround an eerie mansion on the edge of Barmet Bay, the setting for an international smuggling operation. Frank and Joe’s father is placed in jeopardy as the smugglers execute their devious schemes. Will the Hardy Boys reach their dad in time?!

About The Growing Stage:
The Growing Stage Theatre is located at 7 Ledgewood Ave, Netcong, New Jersey and no regular mass transportation is available. Own transportation is strongly recommended. Our company is housed in the Historic Palace Theatre, which was built in 1919 and boasts an audience size of approximately 250. As we are The Children’s Theatre of NJ, our mission is to nurture the development of the performing arts through education — and to create, produce and perform works that engage the entire family.

Ticketing System

  • Main Stage Performances are normally Saturdays at 4:00PM and Sunday at 2:00PM. Friday performances are on a limited basis at 7:30pm.
  • Studio Series Performances: Thursday/Friday at 7:30PM, Saturday at 4:00PM and Sunday at 2:00PM.
  • PLEASE NOTE: Local Flavor Coupons and Groupons cannot be redeemed online.  You must call the Box Office to reserve and redeem. Box Office is open daily Monday thru Friday from 10:30am to 3:00pm. Please call at least 24 hours prior to redeem.
  • Seating begins 30 minutes prior to each performance. If you select Will Call as your ticket delivery method, your tickets will be available for pick up starting an hour prior to the performance.
  • Seating is general admission except for season ticket holders and groups of 10 or more.
  • Sales are final and no refunds will be given unless the performance is cancelled. If you are unable to attend, please contact the Box Office and we will do our best to accommodate you at a different performance based on availability.
  • Concessions will be available for sale before the performance and during intermission. Outside food and drink is not allowed.
  • Parking is available in the bank parking lot next to the theatre (when the bank is closed), the park lot behind the bank lot, and on the surrounding streets. If needed, overflow parking is available at the Methodist Church down the street.
