Where is The Growing Stage?

The Growing Stage is located in the historic Palace Theatre, 7 Ledgewood Avenue (Route 183), Netcong, New Jersey 07857. Click here for directions.

Where can I park?

Parking is available in the bank parking lot adjacent to the Palace Theatre. If that is full, additional parking is available across Ledgewood Avenue on Main Street and behind the theatre.

How can I purchase tickets?

Click here to purchase tickets online or call the box office at (973) 347-4946 and we will be happy to take your ticket order over the phone.

How does seating work?

We reserve seats for season ticket holders and groups of 10 or more. All other seating is general admission (first come, first served).

When should I arrive for a show?

The box office opens 45 minutes prior to a show for those who are picking up tickets, and the lobby opens then as well. The theatre is open for seating 30 minutes prior to a show.

Are concessions available?

Of course! Popcorn, juice and water are for sale for $1.00 each prior to the show and again at intermission.

Since you are a “children’s theatre,” do children play all the roles in a production?

Our casts are comprised of both children and adults playing age-appropriate roles in each production. As a member theatre of the Association of Actors Equity, The Growing Stage casts professional Equity performing artists in all our Main Stage shows as well as adult and child community players. The Growing Stage is the only theatre in the region that gives members of the community the opportunity to work alongside Equity actors in a professional production.

What is the Association of Actors Equity (a.k.a. “Equity”)?

“Equity” is the union for professional actors—including those on Broadway!

Are all of your productions for young children?

We offer a variety of programming choices for children from preschool through high school. Generally, Main Stage productions are geared to the entire family, but if there is a recommended age range, we will clearly post that information. Elementary and high school students will enjoy our Studio Series presentations in addition to Main Stage shows.

How can my child get involved with The Growing Stage?

There are lots of ways to take part in all the fun! We offer classes for children from preschool to high school and Summer Arts Day Camp for preschool through eighth grade; teens can join our Volunteer Corps; and young people (age 10 and older) can audition for a role in a Main Stage production. And, of course, children of all ages are welcome at our shows!

How can I find out about auditions?

Join our mailing list and/or check the audition page on our website to keep informed about upcoming auditions.

What volunteer opportunities are available at The Growing Stage?

Teens and adults are welcome to join our Volunteer Corps to help with scenery and costume construction, administrative/office work, ushering, concessions and more. Novices and skilled professionals are welcome. Please contact Audience Development Director Danny Campos at (973) 347-4946 or e-mail boxoffice@growingstage.com for more information.

Can I rent the Palace Theatre for a private event?
